*aristotle on mondays

“Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work” (Aristotle).

I believe that. Unfortunately for me, there is absolutely nothing pleasing about school, thus perfection is often lacking (to say the least). I do love learning though, and I will never take my opportunities for education for granted. Neither should you! We live such blessedly privileged lives, it’s easy to feel like our everyday jobs are less than “opportunistic” and yet, our worst-paying, minimum wage jobs are better than most can only hope for.. These are all classic Monday observations, but here’s something that seems goofy to me: in our society, we put things off until Monday. Wanna start a diet? Wait for Monday. Gonna be more dedicated to reading the Bible? Wait for Monday. Etc, etc. So it’s ironic, cause here we all hate on Mondays and having to return to work, school, whatever.. yet, when we decide to make fresh starts or attempt new regimes we wait for Monday, our fresh start. I am convinced we are all walking oxymorons. Particularly the moron part… but anyway, here’s to the start of another week, and the beginning of striving towards excellence once more!

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
