*praise God, from whom all blessings flow

Do you ever have those moments when you’re reading the Bible and your jaw just drops and you think, “THIS! THIS IS IT!” And your heart sings out to the Lord, and the Spirit gives you a metaphorical bear hug, and you worship Jesus – our one true King.. I had one of those moments today, and I can’t help myself. You have to read this! Our God is so good!

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

{1 Timothy 1:12-17}

Praise the Lord, who uses the weak and the unworthy to serve him. Praise the Lord that he who is perfection in itself, who is almighty and absolute, still chooses to dwell in us and work through us – even though we are imperfect in every way. Praise the Lord, who gives blasphemers and persecutors and just all around messed up people mercy. Praise the Lord who extends not just a little grace, but who pours grace out on us abundantly! Praise the Lord who gives not just grace, but also faith and love.

Praise God, who sent sent his Son to save sinners! Praise God, who sent his Son to save the worst of sinners – me. Praise our God, who will take our sinfulness and display his glory through it. Praise our God, who can completely redeem us, who can make our stories something beautiful!

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory forever and ever, AMEN!
